昔、赤同錫の助のアニメが流行ったとき、
剣道をするする少年が劇的に増えた。

日曜日のＢＳのドラマを見ていた｛再放送？）。
題名は「鞍馬天狗」だった。
白馬に乗って颯爽と現れる鞍馬天狗のシーンを見たとき頭に浮かんだ。
あれ！、俺の剣道の原点はこれだった！と思った。
黒い覆面をかぶった、嵐寛勘十郎の鞍馬天狗にい魅了されたのだ。
父の兵児帯を頭に巻いて、竹の棒をもってチャンバラをしていた。
クリスマスの時叔父さんからすこし立派なオモチャの刀を頂いた。
嬉しくて一週間ほど抱いて寝ていた子供の頃をおもいだした。

全く白紙の頭に染め混まれた鞍馬天狗が、その後70年以上剣道に魅了されている自分に気がついた。

三つ子の魂百までもと言われるが。まさにそうなんだ！

おはようございます。

メールありがとうございました。

私の拙い演武を観て下さって、ご感想と今後の課題まで頂き、感謝しております。

西村先生の教えに従い、原田先生と賀来先生という優れた先生方と触れ合え、

なんとか真似事の足運びが出来つつあることが楽しいです。

西村先生、原田先生、賀来先生は、こんな楽しみ方をされてたのだなぁ…　とか、

争う心をどうやって抑えておられたのだろう…　とか、考えながら稽古を楽しんでお
ります。

また、人に伝えることの難しさを痛感しました。

先生方のお言葉を思い出しながら取り組んでおります。

今年は、天皇陛下即位式典のお蔭で５月２日も休みになって八段審査の応援に行きま
した。

その時に思い出した西村先生のお言葉が「打つ前の一瞬の沈黙」と、言うお言葉でし
た。

私が拝見した中で「打つ前の一瞬の沈黙」を実践されてた先生がおられました。

一次審査に合格されたので（やっぱりなぁ…　もしかしたら西村先生がご指導された
かも…）と、

思いながら帰りました。

「打つ前の一瞬の沈黙」で、その会場だけが空気というか重力というか…　なんで
しょう？

変化したような気がしましたので、そのことが頭から離れず、今年の演武で試してみ
る事にしました。

触刃から交刃へ間合いを詰めて「打つ前の一瞬の沈黙」（真似事ですが…笑)を、
やってみました。

すると、お相手の心に変化が表れ、打ちに出ようとするのが判りましたので、

その一瞬先に足を出せる事ができたような気がします。

お相手の方にもよるかも知れませんが自分の中では

「あれ？　こんな簡単な方法でお相手を引き出せてしまうのか？」でした。

何なのでしょう？(^^;

このところ、娘たちが相次いで出産して二人の孫ができました。

今年の１１月にもう一人誕生する予定です。

落ち着きましたら、また、江戸川に訪問させて頂いて、

西村先生の剣道談義をお願いしようかと考えておりました。

それまでは「打つ前の一瞬の沈黙」を、いろいろと試しながら稽古に取り組みます。

今後ともご指導のほど、宜しくお願い申し上げます。<(_ _)>

西村がダンスで１ヶ月間で優勝したのも、東北の伝説上の指導者に見込まれて3万円で50万円分のレッスンを受けたからです。

東方の学連、体育会系の優勝者は12位でした。
夫婦で5年やっているペアーは6位でした。

全くゼロの時の西村を知っていて、1ヶ月後に優勝をさらわれれば何かを感じます。
西村は原田先生について50年くらい指導を受けました。

結局、全日本連優勝でした。

習い事は師匠次第です。

出稽古の行って、指導を受けるべき先生を探すのが一番大切端です。
貴方が西村を選んだ様に見る目は確かですから探してください。
良い先生に付かないと、お互い稽古ばかりしていると当てるだけにお稽古に終わり、
だんだん癖が強くなり、下手になっていきます。
昇段とは違った方向の剣道になってしまます。

殆どの人は互角稽古で当て合いあの、娯楽稽古を楽しんでいます。
このサイクルにハマると昇段は覚束なくなります。

剣道は自分を磨く個人的な自己啓発、修行です。
いつもここを頭に置いて、稽古をしてください。

有難う御座います。
西村の絶好調の時期に、岩手の福岡高校での、稽古初めの様子が映っています。

時折り、西村の足の攻めに先生が引き出されている場面があります。
ここで一瞬の沈黙が有り、一瞬の我慢くらべの時です。
先に打って出ればそこで勝負有りです。
一瞬の我慢比べに負けた事になります。
この一点に意識を集中して、その一瞬を見極める修業です。
先生と40年の稽古でここまで登ってきました。
この後数年後は時折り、参ったの一本が入る様になりました。
この一瞬は原田先生との稽古のみに味わえる、至極の瞬間です。
どんな先生とも味わえないのです。

この一瞬をどうにか互角に対峙できるようになった時が西村の剣道の
ピークでした。
ここを目指せた西村は幸せな剣道人生でした。
最高の師匠を得たと喜んでいます。

　お久しぶりです！２００４年の映像ですね！！先生に初めてお会いしてお稽古を頂戴した頃の映像です。初めては日本武道館での合同稽古会でした。仁王様のように大きくて、眼光の鋭い先生にお願いするのはちびりそうなくらい勇気のいることでした。でもあの時「お願いします！」とお稽古をお願いしたから、その後素晴らしいご指導をたまわることができました。あの頃の合同稽古は、中央に原田範士や橋本範士、佐藤範士、岡範士、倉沢範士、中島範士、塚本範士、古城範士、大祢範士らが立たれ、後ろの座席に森島範士が座られていました。全員の先生が既に鬼籍に入られてしまいました。寂しいですけれど、しっかり目に焼き付いています。
